Clause 209 Roommate Agreement

Sheldon: Wrong, lord. It`s not true. According to section 37B of the roommate contract, various obligations, you are obliged to take me to the dentist. You see? It`s right here, after giving a sniff of dodgy dairy products. Leonard can`t handle Sheldon`s incessant moans and says he`s going home and asks one of the other guys to take Sheldon home later. Sheldon steps in and says he needs someone to take him to the dentist, and according to the rules of the roommate agreement, he has to comply. Leonard, who is furious at what to do, says he`s tired of the roommate deal, because he`s a roommate and not a driver. Sheldon asks if he wants to activate section 209 that ruins their friendship. Leonard signs right away so he can go home to sleep. Leonard: You know what, I`m tired of the roommate agreement.

That`s ridiculous. I`m your roommate, not your driver. You know, I had better things to do yesterday than driving you to the right miniature train store in Garden Grove, because Pasadena`s has become too big for her. The roommate agreement was in effect for most of the show; But since Sheldon moved in with Amy in Penny`s old apartment, it can be assumed that the agreement is no longer in effect. As Leonard feels insomniac because of Sheldon, Leonard is not in the mood to drive Sheldon to the dental office, in accordance with the roommate agreement. As such, Leonard readily refers to what Sheldon tells him is clause 209 in the agreement, namely that the agreement is broken, that they are no longer friends, and that their only formal responsibility for each other are the payment of rent, the payment of utilities and the perfunctory “`sup` as they pass each other in the corridor. Sheldon is just as willing. But Sheldon can change his mind if no one in his social circle, not even Amy, seems ready to take on the tasks Leonard used to perform. Sheldon tries to show Leonard that he needs him as a friend, while Leonard really has nothing against doing Sheldon these little favors, but wants them not to be a mandatory part of their relationship. Meanwhile, Raj noticed that all of Howard`s fellow astronauts have cool nicknames, while Howard doesn`t. As Howard says…

Written by Huggo Sheldon: Do you suggest that you have come to your right and want to restore the reciprocal benefits of full participation in the roommate contract? Sheldon: Think carefully here. Section 209 suspends our friendship and withdraws most of the roommate contract. Our responsibility to each other would only be rent, incidental fees and a perfunctory chin kick of recognition as we pass through the lobby.
